Reusable Isolation Gowns and Coveralls for First Responders and Healthcare Workers
In response to the COVID19 pandemic, Fire-Dex is producing AAMI Level 3- compliant isolation gowns and coveralls.
The gowns and coveralls exceed CDC guidance for COVID-19 related responses and are made with Stedair® TX L3. They are washable and highly durable to withstand the demands of front-line emergency services while offering you added barrier protection from fluids.
Because of the ability to wash and reuse, the “per use” cost makes it as affordable as its Level 1 disposable counterparts.
ISOLATION PPE LAUNDERING RESULTS

Washing Recommendations
- Check that there are no sharp objects within PPE which could damage the fabric
- Do not overload PPE; 75-80% of the capacity is optimal
- Use NFPA 1851 compliant laundry detergent
- Temperature should not exceed 140ºF for washing operations
- For disinfecting, use Hydrogen Peroxide (35%) in concentration of 150 ppm, OR NFPA 1851 compliant laundry sanitizer
- Make sure that you have an adequate cooling period and fold goods immediately after drying to avoid wrinkling
- Do not iron
- Do not use Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach)
- Do not use a high pressure extractor with single stage plunger as it can damage fabrics made with Stedair® TX L3
- Avoid excessive high temperature, or over-drying
