Inflate your Frontier Rescue Raft/Boat faster with the Spider Fill.
The Spider Fill comes with five valves with connections to each valve of the Raft/Boat and can be hooked up to a
standard 2216/4500psi SCBA bottle. NOTE: WHEN FILLING CRACK THE TANK OPEN SLOWLY AND ONLY PARTIALLY AS THERE IS NO REGULATOR TO CONTROL PRESSURE.
Note: It is important to not over fill the boat as it is designed to hold 5psi maximum and the floor is 10psi maximum.
It will take 5 to 8 minutes to fill your boat with the foot pump and about 1.5 minutes with the spider fill hose.
Your rescue boat comes with five fill chambers. Each chamber
has its own check valve. These check valves can be opened to drain the air but before storing your boat close these valves so you are ready for an emergency deployment.
If using the spider fill connection, you can hook up all
fill valves at once and fill direct from a SCBA bottle, either 4500 or 2216psi.
Caution not to over fill as 5psi is all that is needed. All check valves should
remain closed. Once the boat is filled twist off all fill valves removing the
connections, air will not leak out as the internal check valves will not allow it. Since there is no gauge it is critical to be very cautious not to over fill. When the boat feels hard stop! If you are not comfortable using the spider this way we recommend using the included foot pump.
It is very important for your department to train on filling
and deflating this boat so there is no surprises at an emergency scene. The quick connects are not meant to be disconnected when you finish filling but use the black connection by twisting it off. The quick connect is used to allow the connections to spin. If you unhook using the quick connect air will leak out. So just to be clear, the spider without regulator is for a very quick fill by trained personnel and must not be overfilled. The walls and floor will be the same pressure.
It is recommended to use the foot pump and not the spider in most cases as it is a much safer option.
